new year

it is almost the new year.
generally i do not go for new years resolutions, but this year i have one.  in the calendar year of twenty ten i would like to be a much more organized and neat person. i'm kinda a pack rat who collects lots of cool little things to turn into art work or decorate with. besides the pac rat part, this is not a bad thing. the problem is that i do not have enough room for all of it.
from now on i want to live more simply.
i  shall give lots of things away, my stuff will bless others far more then it blesses me.

okay i love this room! i know its not simple, but it is orderly, and it fits my other resolution which is.....

To read more.  my lovely Mum, who's birthday it is today! (happy birthday mum!) just bought me two lovely books on amazon,

the Picture of Dorian Gray

Hans Christian Anderson Fairy tales :)
I am very excited to read these. the last fictional books i read was the twilight saga.....  yeah....

any resolutions for you dears?

Done

   I'm done with school!
this semester has been a whirlwind, its so nice to be done until spring, now i can catch my breathe. :)
Today was my very last final, which was sculpture

The idea, or purpose of my sculpture was to create a self portrait. She was created out of clay, then cast in plaster, we had to transform our piece in some way, so i placed her in this setting with my things around her. also she decided to decapitate herself, this of course was not the first time she did this, it was the 3rd or 4th, maybe even 5th time, i really cant remember, but a lot. in the end i realized that she was right and she did look better with her neck and shoulders detached.
photo's taken on campus, outside my classroom. i was so worried that something might get stolen..
but nothing did :)

love you

Birthday

it  was my nineteenth birthday on the 21st of november
i celebrated by holding a costume dance party on the evening of the 20th, it was loads of fun! my dear friends zach and lindsay helped my soo much with decorating and just everything. the party turned out beautifully. my only regret is that i did not take pictures, here are a few pictures my busy mother took.

Olivia Jeffries

i recently fell upon the works of Olivia Jeffries

i love her work for many reasons, one of them being she only works on found materiel's,  such as old book covers record sleeves and over found children's drawings, this gives her work an old feel and an identity. I also really love the mystic quality it really draws you in. and takes you to another place. truly lovely. check out Olivia's work at her website http://www.oliviajeffries.com/ also check out her etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5034202

if i had money

Anthropologie causes me to wish i had money

and at the same time makes me glad that I do not have money. for spending my money on these beautiful products is frivolous, considering all of the other worth while investments that are out there, such as furthering the gospel locally and globally, providing clean water for children, and so on and so forth. it is sad to me that i am eager to spend my money on things that will wither away instead of investing in treasures that will last forever and affect the lives of those near and far. I am grateful for for beautiful things that remind of the fact that my heart is in the wrong place.
but hey if they go on sale  then thats not so bad ;) he he, because man that first sweater is fantastic :D

homework

the most wonderful home work that has ever been assigned to me :) i just love my classes :)

intermediate oil painting class :) taught by the lovely Rebecca Morris, we had to make one "good painting" and one "bad painting" good and bad could mean what ever you wanted this is what i did ^

illustration class :) ^ taught by Richard Osaka  he had us illustrate 2 or more words that he put up on the board, i chose blue fragile and nice. this is what happened :)
i love how much artistic freedom i have been given in all my classes!
what i am working on right now it my sculpture project she asked us to make a sculpture out of found or recycled materials :) i am so excited! and slightly nervous given the short amount of time i have for completion, pray for me!
